Egypt Tourism Statistics Surpassing Expectations
Egypt is optimistic that despite the current challenges affecting its political climate, there will be a steady increase in the number of tourists visiting the country in the year 2012.
The 2011 statistics for Tourist arrivals in Egypt shows that despite the political crisis, there were over 9.8 Million worldwide visitors to the country last year. Out of these total visitors, over 184 thousands were American tourists who stayed close to 3.0 million tourist nights.
Egypt continues to be a premier destination for the American Market as it offers Americans great value for their dollar, exceeding expectations for its excellent, diverse, and high quality tourism products.

Travel Advisories to Egypt Lifted
Travel Advisories lifted by the Canadian and the Hungarian government. Canada and Hungary no longer advises against traveling to Sharm El Sheikh , Hurghada, Luxor & Aswan Last Friday, April 22 a delegation of U.S. travel leaders embarked on “Restoring the Journey”, a move to support Egypt Tourism and travel, with a six-day visit of the tourism infrastructure of Egypt. On a mission to review the region’s timeless appeal and assess current travel conditions, the delegation includes leaders of the top three outbound producing travel associations— United States Tour Operators Association, NTA, and American Society of Israel Travel Agents —along with other association heads, tour operators and travel journalists. Already in Egypt, they have met with the Minister of Tourism, H.E. Mounir Fakhry AbdelNour, the Chairman of the Egyptian Tourist Authority, Mr. Amr ElEzabi, the US Ambassador to Egypt, H.E. Margaret Scobey, as well as the Minister of Antiquities, Dr. Zahi Hawass.

Christian travel to Egypt
Egypt is a popular land for tourism and many people go there for different reasons. Religious tours are one form of traveling in Egypt because of many monuments and historic places. Mainly, Christians, Muslims and Jewish travel to Egypt because they have many religious and historic monuments and lands located there. Among all of them, Christian tours are more common because they are found in majority in world and they are also interested to see the Jewish and Islamic places in Egypt along with Christianity related places.
