Jerusalem tours
I have always had an interest in old or ancient cities I’ve seen Egypt, Jordan and from there Jerusalem. All of these places are so rich in culture that you fall in love with them as soon as you land and if you’re like me your camera doesn’t stop clicking.
When I started researching I realized how much there was to see in the week I has so I found loads of tour groups with English speaking guides and jumped at the chance to see some of the amazing sites on offer. The Jerusalem tours didn’t disappoint and through the brilliant guides I learned more of the history than I would have by myself.
Anyone that wants to go to Jerusalem should book one of these Jerusalem tours to get the most out of there trip, it’s a waste if you don’t. I was able to see the old city go and go on a pilgrimage tour of Jerusalem and Bethlehem. These memories of my Jerusalem tours are priceless.

Jerusalem Israel General Information
A trip to israel is not complete without seeing Jerusalem. It is the place to see in Israel and all of the Middle East, specially if you are a first timer we suggest a israel tour. This sacred city is the center for the world’s three major monotheistic religions, and was fought over for three millennia by many people and nations. Jerusalem known for the center of the world, is also the capitol of the state of Israel.
Jerusalem is very much alive today, with numerous landmarks within the ancient walls of Jerusalem. See the Western Wall which is all that remains of the temple of Solomon that was destroyed by the Babylonians in 587 BC. In Jerusalem you will see every aspect of religion represented by Jews from Africa, Asia, Europe and America. Experience the Jewish rituals of praying, leaving messages to God written on pieces of paper and placeing it between the stones of the wall. Here you can see young teenage girls staggered up to the Female section of the wall to elderly Jewish men dressed in traditional sober Hasidic clothing. You may even come across a Bar Mitzvah Celebration.
The Holy Sepulchre is built on the site where Jesus is said to have been execuited and buried, a reminder of all the varities of Christianity there is. There are 30 chaples built on this site and a great choice for holy land tours. Stopping for a few seconds you will experience Armenian, Catholic, Coptic, Ethopian, Greek and Russian priests rushing by you. The stunning Dome of the Rock on Temple Mount dominates the view of Jerusalem, it is a masterpiece of Islamic architecture. It is believed by all three of the wolrd’s main religions that the Rock is where Abraham prepared to sacrafice his son to God in the founding act of Monotheism.
Just about every step you take through the streets of Jerusalem is a reminder that this Holy Land city had an enormous effect on the history of the world and is destined to have a crucial tole in it’s future. Walk alond the Via Dolorosa, the streets where Jesus dragged his cross befor his crucifixion. You’ll hear a potpourri of Muslim calls for prayer along with Christian chanting with shouting of the market traders selling their spices. Injerusalem you’ll see Jews and Muslims trading with one another and shareing a meal in the market place.

Mount of Beatitudes and The Sermon on the Mount
The Mount of Beatitudes refers to the hill in northern Israel where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount. The traditional location is on the northwestern shore of the Sea of Galilee, between Capernaum and Gennesaret (Ginosar). The actual location of the Sermon on the Mount is not certain, but the present site (also known as Mount Eremos) has been commemorated for more than 1600 years. The site is very near Tabgha. Other suggested locations have included the nearby Mount Arbel, or even the Horns of Hattin. A Byzantine church was erected near the current site in the 4th century, and it was used until the 7th century. Remains of a cistern and a monastery are still visible. The current Roman Catholic Franciscan chapel was built in 1938. Pope John Paul II celebrated a Mass at this site in March 2000. The Jesus Trail pilgrimage route connects the Mount to other sites from the life of Jesus.

Israeli Tour Guides Return to Palestinian Bethlehem
Israeli tour guides and travel operators returned to Bethlehem last week as part of a new project by the Israel Ministry of Tourism and tourism authorities in the Palestinian Authority.
The initiative is a result of a joint request by travel guides, tourists, travel agencies and operators that Israeli tour guides be permitted to accompany travelers to religious and touristic sites during their visit to Bethlehem in the Palestinian Authority.
“We are thrilled travelers from around the world are now able to visit Bethlehem under Israeli guided tours,” says Arie Sommer, Commissioner for Tourism, North and South America. “We hope this initiative will garner new interest in tourism to Bethlehem.”
2.7 million tourists vacationed in Israel in 2009, making it the second-best year for tourism in Israel’s 60-year history, just 11% less than the all-time high of 3 million travelers set in 2008. More than 1.3 million travelers visited Bethlehem in the Palestinian Authority in 2009.
