Bono from U2 in Jerusalem

U2 lead singer Bono visited Israel recently, here pictured with the General Manager of King David Hotel, Dror Danino. Bono said of Jerusalem “a great city!,” and was seen touring the Old City of Jerusalem, Israel Holy Land sites, as well as enjoying the night life in Tel Aviv, and sight seeing in Jaffa. Bono whom is known for not only his great music with U2, but also a great humanitarian always lending a hand or heading worthy causes throughout the world. The 2011 statistics for Tourist arrivals in Egypt shows that despite the political crisis, there were over 9.8 Million worldwide visitors to the country last year. Out of these total visitors, over 184 thousands were American tourists who stayed close to 3.0 million tourist nights.
Egypt continues to be a premier destination for the American Market as it offers Americans great value for their dollar, exceeding expectations for its excellent, diverse, and high quality tourism products.

Jerusalem opera festival

The Jerusalem Development Authority has launched it’s second annual cultural calendar. The calendar highlights all of the capital’s major cultural events throughout 2012. It provides a clear and concise reference for everyone from tour operators to first-time visitors or even native Jerusalemites.

Jerusalem has become home to a number of new exciting festivals and cultural events that you can experience during your Israel Tour Package, which have further increased her standing as one of the most diverse and culturally rich tourist destinations on the planet. This year is no exception, with The Jerusalem Opera Festival, The Jerusalem Marathon, The Jerusalem Ice Festival and The Jerusalem Festival of Light amongst the line-up planned for 2012.

In March Jerusalem is set to take center stage, when athletes from around the world will take part in a The Second Jerusalem Marathon running a breathtaking route through the city streets, old and new. In addition March will also welcome one of the world’s largest Ice Festivals to Jerusalem, covering an enormous space at what was once Jerusalem’s old train station, the festival will feature dozens of magnificent ice sculptures, an ice skating rink an even an ice bar.

In June things will heat up when the Jerusalem Festival of Light brings the greatest light sculptors in the world to Jerusalem. Their works will light up the streets and alleys of the Old City, major tourist sites and public spaces. In addition, this year the Light Festival will host a special abridged version of Verdi’s La Traviata in the ancient Zedekiah Caves. This event will offer just a sample of some of the great opera available in September when the capital opens its doors to three nights of world class opera at the Jerusalem Opera Festival; to include an unforgettable production of Puccini’s classic La Bohème set in the shadows of Jerusalem’s spectacular old city walls.

Jerusalem Biblical Zoo

When you think of Jerusalem when visiting and taking a tour to Israel, one does not think about animals and zoo’s yet Jerusalem’s Biblical Zoo is a great experience and visit during your stay in Israel. The Zoo offers an imaginative landscape stretching over 62 acres, surrounded by magnificent views. Visitors and tourist can see a range of animals including many species mentioned in the Bible as well as endangered species.
The Zoo is great for everyone but special with children offering a Zoo train (exception on Saturday and Holidays), a petting zoo, ecological maze and diverse play grounds. Other special attractions in the zoo include the “Wet Side Story” exhibit with fish, river otters and sea horses. The 3D theater features the nature movie “bugs” with special effects. Don’t forget to visit the beautiful Sumatran tiger exhibit for a great thrill, and stop by the “underground world” exhibit with prairie dogs, scorpions, meerkats, mole rats and many more surprises.
