Itinerary
Day 1

Drive to Mount of Olives for a panoramic view of the city. Stop at Mount Zion to visit King David Tomb, the room of last supper and the dormition abbey; Enter the Old City and walk through the Armenian and Jewish Quarter to the recently excavated and restored Cardo, the Roman road. See the Western Wall-the holiest site in Judaism and one of the original walls that retained the Temple, and continue to the Christian Quarter. Walk along the Via Dolorosa and visit the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. After drive through the Judean desert to the Dead Sea. Stop for relaxation at one of the resorts on the shores of the Dead Sea, and enjoy the opportunity to swim and float in the Dead Sea, and cover yourself with the mineral rich, therapeutic Dead Sea mud.

  1. Jerusalem the city chosen by God. As a holy city for Judaism, Christianity and Islam, Jerusalem has always been of great symbolic importance. Among its 220 historic monuments, Jerusalem is is recognized by all three religions as the site of Abraham's sacrifice. The Wailing Wall delimits the quarters of the different religious communities, while the Resurrection rotunda in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre houses Christ's tomb.

  3. Mt. Zion, visit the Upper room (Luke 22), Lord’s Supper, visit King David Tomb, and walk through the Jewish Quarter.

In a city already divided, the Old City is further divided culturally and historically into four Quarters: the Muslim Quarter, the Jewish Quarter, the Armenian Quarter, and the Christian Quarter.
  5. Jewish Quarter is one of the four traditional quarters of the Old City of Jerusalem.
  6. The Cardo was Jerusalem's main street 1500 years ago. The Cardo was originally paved in the 2nd century when Hadrian rebuilt Jerusalem as a Roman polis called Aelia Capitolina. The Cardo was extended south to the area of today's Jewish Quarter in the 6th century by the Byzantine Emperor Justinian.
  7. Western Wall or Kotel- The holiest site in Judaism and one of the original walls that retained the Temple.
  8. The Christian quarter in the north-west section of the Old City comprises some 4,900 people. Most of the Christian institutions are clustered around the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. This church is built over the remains of Golgatha where Christ was crucified and the tomb where he was buried and rose.
  9. The Via Dolorosa where we'll walk the Stations of the Cross including the Judgment Hall of Pilate (John 18:33), located at the Church of the Flagellation and Church of the Condemnation and Imposition of the Cross.
  10. Church of the Holy Sepulcher (Matthew 27, Matthew 33:57, Matthew 28:10) where you'll find the last Station 14 of the cross, and where pilgrims celebrate and mark the crucifixion and burial of Jesus.
  11. The Dead Sea - where you’ll have an opportunity to swim and float on the Dead Sea the lowest place on earth.
  12. Qumran where a cache of ancient biblical texts the Dead Sea Scroll were discovered.

Tips during your Jerusalem and Dead Sea tour: It's important to consider your Tour Guides and Drivers work very hard to make your tour an experience of a lifetime, and most of their annual income comes from the generosity of those they are serving during the tours. It is recommended that tour guides are given at least $6.00 per touring day per person, and drivers are given at least $4.00 per touring day per person. Please consider also hotel staff during your stay, and other staff that will support you during your tour.
