Dead Sea
The Dead Sea – flanking Israel, the West Bank and Jordan – is a lake with high concentration of salt whose banks are more than 400 meters beneath ocean level, the lowest point on dry earth. Its famous therapeutic water makes floating easy, and its mineral-rich dark mud is utilized for cosmetic and therapeutic treatments at area resorts, and products sold world-wide. The surrounding desert offers many oases and historic sites.
